To foster economic development and boost financial discipline, Stephen started Team Mutwalo Savings Cooperative, an initiative instilling a spirit of hard work and promoting a saving culture among our people in the communities of Kamuli especially men.
SACCO Impact
How It Works
The Sacco has run for five years with 50 registered members that meet weekly to encourage, save and award funds towards a selected business owner who must use the money given to boost his / her business and later return the funds without interest.
Additional Benefits
- Besides that, the Sacco also gives out low interest loans to members and non-members
- Interest collected is again injected in the loans department to be given out to others in need
- Promotes financial discipline and saving culture in the community
- Supports local business development and entrepreneurship
This initiative has created a positive impact on the economic landscape of Kamuli District, empowering community members to become financially independent and supporting local business growth.
